Enjoy the Forest. Be Fire Safe.

Current Projects

In partnership with the National Forest Foundation, CAL FIRE, and the US Forest Service, the MCFSC is engaged to catalogue oak trees at risk of becoming infested with Gold Spotted Oak Borer in high-value, high-traffic areas of the San Bernardino National Forest. MSCFC Field Staff assessed hundreds of oaks at dozens of campgrounds, picnic areas, and yellow post sites in the San Jacinto Ranger District.

This data has been mapped via ArcGIS and shared with the NFF, the USFS, and UCANR.
